I’m excited about being 28. 27 wasn’t the most ideal year. It was, thankfully, a year of completion (2 + 7 = 9, the mystical number of completion). I graduated with my MFA, found a really happy place to live, finished two manuscripts, and completed working some interesting jobs (baby Gap, teaching comp).

28 is a number of beginnings (2 + 8 = 10; 1 + 0 = 1. 1 is the mystical number of initiation).

I am ready to do the work of doing work.

And yes–I finished work on my second manuscript on Monday night. I’m so happy with it. It feels like a real thing.
